We’re taking on a new client, and we’re going to document the whole thing as it happens.
Mango Medical is a nurse-led private clinic in Bristol. James, its founder, says he has worked in the NHS for 21 years, and started Mango Medical after seeing too many people present too late. His aim: catch problems early, and give people the skills and knowledge to act before a situation becomes an emergency. He offers blood tests, health checks, mole checks, physical first aid training, mental health first aid training, and vitamin and mineral checks and replacements.
Why this business? Because it’s starting from the very bottom of the search-optimisation ladder. When we began, the website wasn’t being found on Google even for its own company name. Our ambition is to build traffic, customers, leads and enquiries from that starting point – a live test of our process, documented honestly, whatever the outcome. And we’re documenting it because of James himself: his passion for what he does, and the stories he tells of lives saved since he started his company.
This post is a running record. We’ll add each stage as it happens, with the real numbers, good or bad.
Mid-September 2026: the starting point
Where the website stood when we took it on:
- Google Search Console recorded zero clicks and zero impressions in the 30 days to 19 September 2026 (window: 21 August to 19 September).
- The site wasn’t being found for its own company name, let alone for the services it offers.
- All 50 keywords we track for the clinic sat outside Google’s top 100.
In short: a live business with real services, effectively invisible in search in the data we hold. In the September video, we set the first goal: get the business found for its own company name.
Mid-October 2026: 30 days later
Thirty days in, the first movement we’ve seen in this data:
- The site is now being found for its own company name: Search Console shows 30 clicks and 248 impressions over the last 30 days (20 September to 19 October), up from zero in the previous 30-day window. Most of those clicks are for “Mango Medical” itself.
- The first non-brand impressions we’ve seen in this data have started appearing for a handful of the services James offers. The numbers are tiny – but the previous window showed none at all.
- We recorded one visit from an AI assistant in this window – the first we’ve seen in the data we hold. One visit isn’t a trend.
What hasn’t happened yet: the 50 service keywords we track are still all outside the top 100, and we haven’t verified an enquiry attributable to search yet. That’s the honest state of play at day 30.
What happens next
The next phase is content. We’re rewriting the website so each service gets a proper page of its own: physical first aid training, mental health first aid training, blood tests, mole checks, and vitamin and mineral checks and replacements. Every draft goes to James for review before anything goes live.
We’ll update this case study as the numbers move.
