What is a website care plan?

Your website is

a business asset. Treat it like one.

A website care plan is a monthly service where Bamsh takes responsibility for everything that keeps your WordPress website running correctly — updates, backups, security, uptime, and content changes. You pay a fixed monthly amount and nothing falls through the cracks.

WordPress powers over 40% of the internet — and it requires regular maintenance. Every plugin, theme, and core update that isn’t applied is a potential security vulnerability or compatibility issue. Most website problems don’t appear without warning — they build quietly until something breaks.

A care plan prevents that. And if something does go wrong — an update causes an issue, a plugin conflicts with another, or a site goes down — the Bamsh team is on it immediately, with a backup ready to restore.

Works for any WordPress website — whether it’s hosted on Bamsh servers or with any other provider.

What happens without a care plan
  • Outdated plugins become security vulnerabilities — hackers actively target unpatched WordPress sites
  • A failed update with no backup means hours of recovery work — often at emergency rate costs
  • Sites go down undetected — you only find out when a customer tells you, or doesn’t come back
  • Slow, bloated WordPress installations lose Google rankings and push visitors away
  • Minor content changes queue up for weeks because there’s no one responsible for doing them
  • Without monitoring, a hacked or defaced site can be live for days before anyone notices
What’s covered across all plans

Everything your WordPress

site actually needs.

Every Bamsh care plan — at every tier — includes all of the following as standard. The difference between plans is the level of content support and response priority.

🔄
Weekly WordPress updates
WordPress core, all active themes, and all plugins updated every week. Updates are applied after a backup is taken — never blindly. If an update causes a conflict, it’s rolled back immediately.
💾
Daily off-site backups
A full site backup every day — files and database — stored off-site for 30 days. If anything goes wrong at any point, restoration from backup is included at no additional cost.
📡
Uptime monitoring
Your site checked every five minutes. If downtime is detected, the Bamsh team is alerted immediately and investigation begins during working hours. Premium clients get priority 4-hour response.
🛡️
Monthly security scan
A full malware and vulnerability scan every month. Known threats flagged and remediated. File integrity checked against WordPress core to identify any unauthorised changes.
Performance check
Monthly site speed check against Core Web Vitals benchmarks. Flags that could hurt Google rankings are identified and addressed. Site speed directly affects both SEO rankings and visitor conversion rates.
📋
Backup restoration (if needed)
If an update, hack, or technical failure requires a rollback, restoration from the daily backup is included in all plans — no emergency call-out charge, no awkward conversation about cost.
🔍
Search Console monitoring
Professional and Premium plans include monthly Google Search Console checks — crawl errors, manual actions, indexing issues, and security warnings flagged and resolved before they damage rankings.
📊
Monthly report
Professional and Premium clients receive a monthly one-page summary — updates applied, backup status, uptime record, security scan result, and any actions taken or recommended.

Terms — read before you sign up

What you need

to know upfront.

Bamsh publishes its terms openly. These are the specific conditions that apply to website care plans — in plain English, without the small print buried at the bottom. Full legal terms are at bamsh.co.uk/terms-conditions.

The five things that matter most
Minimum term No minimum term. Rolling monthly. Cancel with 30 days’ written notice at any time.
Content hours Use-it-or-lose-it. Unused hours do not roll over to the following month.
Access required WordPress admin access and FTP/hosting access are required to deliver the service.
Scope of content Content updates cover text, images, posts, forms and minor tweaks. Not redesigns or new builds.
T&C 1 — What’s included and what isn’t

Scope of service

Website care plans cover the services explicitly listed in your chosen plan tier. They do not include website redesign, new page creation, new functionality development, e-commerce configuration, SEO campaign management, or any work that requires design or development beyond minor layout adjustments.

Minor layout tweaks — meaning small adjustments to existing page elements such as column spacing, button positioning, or section padding — are included within content update hours. Structural redesigns, new sections, or additions to page templates are quoted separately as development work.

If a content update request would require more time than the remaining monthly allowance, the client will be informed before work proceeds. Additional time is available at Bamsh’s standard hourly rate, agreed in writing before work begins.

T&C 2 — Content update hours

Monthly hour allowance

Professional plans include 1 hour of content updates per month. Premium plans include 2 hours per month. These hours cover text changes, image swaps, blog post additions or edits, form changes, and minor layout tweaks to existing page elements.

Hours are calculated from the time work begins to the time it is complete, including any communication required to clarify the request. Hours are use-it-or-lose-it — unused hours do not roll over to the following month under any circumstances.

Content update requests must be submitted in writing by email to team@bamsh.co.uk. Requests submitted verbally or by phone are not accepted for care plan work. Bamsh will confirm receipt and expected completion time within one working day.

T&C 3 — Updates and backups

Update policy and backup restoration

All WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates are applied weekly. Before any update is applied, a full site backup is taken. If an update causes a compatibility issue or breaks site functionality, the site will be restored from the pre-update backup and the update held pending investigation.

Bamsh will advise on the cause of the conflict and recommend a resolution. If resolution requires development work beyond the care plan scope, this will be quoted separately.

Backup restoration from Bamsh’s off-site backups is included in all plans at no additional cost. Restoration requests for client-initiated changes — for example, restoring content that was accidentally deleted by the client — are included within content update hours where applicable.

Bamsh is not responsible for data loss arising from client-side actions, third-party plugin conflicts introduced by the client, or hosting infrastructure failure outside Bamsh’s control.

T&C 4 — Uptime and response

Monitoring, downtime and response times

Uptime monitoring checks the website every five minutes during all hours. Downtime alerts are sent to the Bamsh team immediately upon detection. Response to downtime alerts occurs during working hours — Monday to Friday 8:30am–6:30pm, Saturday 9am–1pm.

Premium plan clients receive priority response — urgent fixes are addressed within four working hours of the alert being received during working hours.

Bamsh is not responsible for downtime caused by hosting infrastructure failure, domain expiry, third-party service outages, or actions taken by the client or third parties with access to the site. If a client’s site is hosted externally, Bamsh will notify the client and liaise with the hosting provider where possible, but resolution timescales are determined by that provider.

Out-of-hours downtime caused by hosting infrastructure is the responsibility of the hosting provider. Bamsh will investigate and respond on the next working day for Essential and Professional plans.

T&C 5 — Access and client responsibilities

What the client must provide

To deliver a care plan, the client must provide WordPress administrator access and, where the site is externally hosted, FTP/SFTP access or hosting control panel access. Failure to provide or maintain this access may prevent Bamsh from delivering the service.

The client is responsible for ensuring that all third-party licences for premium themes and plugins remain valid. Expired licences may prevent updates from being applied. Bamsh will flag expired licences but is not responsible for purchasing or renewing them.

The client must not grant WordPress or hosting access to other parties without informing Bamsh. Changes made to the site by the client or third parties are not covered by the care plan and may invalidate backup restoration if they introduce conflicts.

T&C 6 — Liability

Limitations of liability

Bamsh’s liability under a website care plan is limited to the monthly fee paid for the plan in which the issue arose. Bamsh is not liable for indirect or consequential losses including lost revenue, lost customers, or reputational damage arising from website downtime, security incidents, or data loss.

Security scans identify known threats and vulnerabilities at the time of scanning. Bamsh cannot guarantee that a website will not be compromised — no security service can make that guarantee. In the event of a successful attack, Bamsh will assist with remediation as a priority, but remediation work beyond the care plan scope will be quoted separately.

Nothing in these terms limits Bamsh’s liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, in accordance with the master Terms & Conditions.

T&C 7 — Cancellation and termination

Cancellation policy

Care plans operate on a rolling monthly basis with no minimum term. Either party may cancel by providing a minimum of 30 days’ written notice to the other. Notice must be given in writing to team@bamsh.co.uk. Verbal cancellation is not accepted.

The client remains liable for the monthly plan fee for the full 30-day notice period, regardless of whether services are used during that period. No refund is provided for unused content hours remaining at the point of cancellation.

Bamsh reserves the right to terminate a care plan with immediate effect if the client breaches these terms — including failure to pay, failure to provide required access, or use of the content update allowance in a manner inconsistent with the defined scope.

Upon cancellation, Bamsh will provide WordPress admin credentials and any relevant account access. Off-site backups will be retained for 30 days following the final service date, after which they will be deleted.

T&C 8 — Payment

Payment terms

Care plan fees are charged monthly in advance by direct debit or card payment. The first payment is taken on commencement of the service. Subsequent payments are taken on the same date each month.

If a payment fails, Bamsh will attempt to collect it twice within five working days. If payment is not received after two attempts, the care plan will be suspended until the outstanding balance is settled. Bamsh is not liable for any issues arising from suspended services due to non-payment.

All prices are stated excluding VAT. VAT is charged at the current UK rate and will appear on all invoices.

Questions

What business owners ask before signing up.

The most common questions about website care plans — answered plainly, including the ones most agencies avoid.

No. Bamsh care plans work for WordPress websites hosted anywhere — on Bamsh servers, your own hosting, or any third-party provider. Access to WordPress admin and your hosting control panel will be required to carry out the work. Response times for out-of-hours hosting infrastructure issues may vary depending on your hosting provider’s support.
Content updates cover: text changes (editing copy on existing pages), image swaps (replacing existing images), blog posts (adding or editing posts in WordPress), form changes (updating form fields, labels, or destination email), and minor layout tweaks (small adjustments to spacing, button position, or column structure on existing pages). What’s not included: new pages, new sections, new functionality, plugin installations, redesign of existing pages, or anything requiring development work. When in doubt, ask — we’ll tell you upfront whether it’s in scope.
Before every update, a full backup is taken. If an update causes a conflict or breaks functionality, the site is rolled back to the pre-update backup immediately — no loss of content, no emergency cost. The update is then held while the conflict is investigated and a resolution found. This is included in all plans.
No. Content hours are use-it-or-lose-it — unused hours do not carry over to the following month under any circumstances. This is set out clearly in the terms so there are no surprises. If you consistently find you’re not using your hours, the Essential plan may be more appropriate for your needs.
Your site is checked every five minutes. During working hours, the team investigates immediately on receiving a downtime alert. Essential and Professional clients receive a response within two working hours. Premium clients receive priority response — urgent fixes addressed within four working hours. Out-of-hours downtime caused by hosting infrastructure is handled on the next working day for Essential and Professional plans.
Yes. 30 days’ written notice to team@bamsh.co.uk and the plan ends. No cancellation fee, no awkward conversation. Upon cancellation, full WordPress admin credentials are provided. Off-site backups are retained for 30 days after the final service date and then deleted. Your site continues to operate as normal — it remains your site throughout.
